Leah's interest in food preparation began in her grandma's kitchen in Mont, Texas baking bread.  Throughout her childhood, you could find her in the kitchen with her mom especially during the holidays.  Later, she went on to work in restaurants and institutional settings.  Her formal education came from the University of Texas in Austin as she received a degree in dietetic.

Leah has made it back home to Shiner and founded her own commercial kitchen.  It is in the same kitchen that her mother established and worked in while Leah grew up.  With her mother's and grandmother's influences, Leah brings to Shiner the basics of food preparation in her cooking classes.  She also brings home flavors from around the world as she incorporates foods from her travels into dishes to wake up the palates of her homies.
